Summary[]

Sally and her companions are shocked to see that that the City of Rimdarl has completely dissapeared. Eye Oni (Meki) turn her head aside but freeze at the sight of a mysterious figure watching them from over the hill. She wonders why he is here, immediately after revealing that it is an ogre called Somenki (Mask Oni). He tells them that his order is to wipe out some humans in the castle and adds that Sally, Frau and Hawthorn are the leftovers he must take care of, confirming that he is the reason why a whole city completely dissapeared from the face of the earth. The ogre then corrects himself that there are actually 4 people now because without her powers Eye Oni is basically a human as well, much to the girl annoyance. Sally pads Meki head telling her not to worry but then ask Frau what to do. The harefolk tells her that she has seen Sally defeating the giant Walrus Ogre and that she is actually strong. This surprises the Mask Oni and he demands for Sally to show him the power, which was enough to beat Sett. As he is about to attack Sally he is ordered to retreat and is warned that even if his primal task is to kill all humans he shouldn't attack this particular girl as she is an exception and she can turn the situation in a big mess. The ogre turn his back at the group leaving the scene.

Sally tells that she is getting tired of meeting strange creatures and is really astonished that the city really dissapeared like it wasn't never there in the first place. Then suddenly it strikes her that this event must have been even worse for Hawthorn. She tries to call for him but he is standing like a statue staring at the emptiness. She tells him that he should pull himself together and that he is the only one they can depend on in this situation. He tries to remember where is the nearest town but is still not in his right mind because of what happened. Unexpectedly for everyone Carrot tells them that there is actually a town, half day on foot from where they currently are. She adds that in order for them to launch the attack on the city she has learned the geography of the region and that also she is in the same boat as the rest, so she didn't mind helping a little.

Later they are seen in front of a inn in the town. Hawthorn decides to buy a room and enters the building. The owner greets him but then sees Frau and asks them to go somewhere else. Hawthorn reveals his identity and ask the man if he remembers him. It is revealed that the Rimdarl knights has been patrolling in the area from time to time. They lie that they are on a secret mission of which Frau is part and the innkeeper finally agrees to give them a room.

Hawhorn gives Sally his wallet and tells her to buy food and materials from the market. As Sally shut the door after herself Hawthorn suddenly colapses on the ground saying he is out of energy and is pretending to be tough in front of her, much to Frau and the Oni surprise. Frau tries to cheer him up but is told that she should be doing it with more confidence. Hawthorn says he needs to cool off a bit and leaves to get water. Meki ask why Frau is being so nicely to Sally and that knight and wonders if she is really a demi-human. The rabbit tells her about how she met Sally and how she saved her from starvation and discrimination. She advice the Oni that she should join Sally as well, calling her little girl as she doesn't know her name. Eye Oni ask for her to think of a name for her if that is the case. Frau suggest calling her Carrot, but the girl tells her to take it seriously. The demi-human changes it to Karrot and the Oni says that she likes it better.

Meanwhile outside Sally is recalling the past events as she suddenly bump into a familiar face - Mikoto.
